Thanksgiving

So the last few weeks I have been intentionally asking God to speak to me, not that I haven’t prayed for that before on a regular basis but I have been really trying to focus on hearing what He has to say to me in my quiet time. I always have one or two things that I am worried about, and they change from time to time. So today’s devotional was entitled Thanksgiving.

Experiencing God

The devotional reminded to be thankful for the blessings I do have and that in Thanksgiving we need to look past the blessing and look at the source.

I was also reminded that we worship a God who is directly accessible, the curtain was torn at Jesus’s death, which gives us the opportunity to lay our cares and concerns (our anxieties) at His feet. Philippians 4:6 (NIV) promises to not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
